Coaches
Please e-mail info@thecombatacademy.com to arrange your Coaching Pass. Please note -
only one coach per academy will be allowed mat-side. All other spectators will be required to remain in the spectators area.
Referee Workshop
BJJ Black Belt and Referee Nick Brookes will be holding a rules meeting/ workshop starting at 9.15 (approx) coaches and fighters are invited to attend.
How the Categories will be run
All competitors will get a minimum of 2 fights so do not disappear if you lose your first fight
2 in a category
You will fight the best of three fights. Please contact me if you would rather fight up a weight, or if you are Master (+35) and would rather fight in the equivalent Adult weight.
3 in a category
You will fight in a 'round-robin' (league). Placing will decided in the following order; submission wins, wins, points scored, points against.
4+ in a category
You will fight using the repechage system. This means you will get a minimum of two fights. See here for an explanation as to how the repechage works http://www.thecombatacademy.com/HowTheRepechargeWorks.html

These times are approximate, and with the exception of the categories that are weighing-in at 9.00, you should be available to weigh-in / ready to fight, up to an hour before the stated times.

If you are not sure about making your weight you need to weigh-in between 9.00 and 10.00. Any later than that and we cannot guarantee being able to move you up to the next weight category. We will however do our best to find a category for you.
Masters (+35 years)
there are sufficient entries from Masters to run the under 82.3 and 88.3 kg masters categories.
I have provisionally placed all other masters in the equivalent adult weight category. If you are under 82.3 kg and would rather fight in that masters category please let me know.
If you are not happy with the above alternatives please let me know and I will issue a refund.
Masters Absolute
The Masters Absolute will start at 11.00. The winner of this category will receive a Gi from our sponsors http://www.black-eagle.co.uk/ This category will be run as a straight knock-out.
Adult Absolute
The Adult Absolute will start at 4.00. Provisionally only 2 fighters per academy will be permitted to enter. More will be allowed subject to time and space. The winner of this category will receive a Gi from our sponsors http://www.black-eagle.co.uk/ This category will be run as a straight knock-out.
Waiting to Fight
Once your category has been called you must remain in the warm-up area behind the relevant mat area. The table staff will not run around the leisure centre looking for you. If you are not in the warm-up area when called, your fight will go down as a loss.
Medal Presentation
This will take place immediately after your bracket has finished. Medallists should report to the medal presentation at this time.
